We were devastated to say goodbye to Pooks, the founder member of the Tower House herd, this week. Sad though we are, the blow was greatly softened by the many heart warming tributes that have appeared on our THH Facebook page in the days since. It was inspiring to be reminded how many lives he touched, with clients from several years ago recalling the life-changing impact of what they learned from him.
Pooks was 29 years old, and had spent 19 of those years here with us. His exceptionally kind temperament and perfect manners made him an ideal candidate for his second career as a member of our equine team. He embodied everything that is wonderful about horses: he had strength and presence but was gentle, empathetic and wise. I have no doubt his spirit will remain with us.
